Relógio de bolso evocativo do regicídio de D. Carlos I vai a leilão em Nova Iorque
A leiloeira norte-americana Heritage Auctions leva à praça na próxima quinta-feira, 20 de Novembro, em Nova Iorque, um relógio de bolso evocativo do regicídio de D. Carlos I. São admitidas licitações online. (pista dada por Carlos Torres)

Rio de Janeiro, back with case relief medallion of the three-quarter profiles of King Carlos I and Luis Filipe, bezel cast with the motto “Pela Lusitania Gloriosa” Dial: white enamel, black Roman numerals, gold spade hands, polychrome Portuguese Royal coat of arms, sub seconds
Movement: matte gilt, 15 jewels, 3/4 plate, straight line lever escapement, bi-metallic compensated balance, etched pattern on the train plate
Note: On 1 February 1908 Carlos I and his family were the victims of an attack by republican activists Alfredo Costa and Manuel Buiça. The two assassins were killed on the spot by police and bodyguards. The king died immediately, Prince Luis Filipe was mortally wounded, Prince Manuel was struck in the arm, and only the Queen escaped injury. Several days later, after the death of the Prince Royal Luis Filipe, Prince Manuel was proclaimed King of Portugal. He was the last of the Braganza-Saxe-Coburg and Gotha dynasty and the last king of Portugal.
