Robots da manga japonesa expostos em fotografias na M.A.D. Gallery de Genebra

A MB&F M.A.D. Gallery, em Genebra, apresenta a exposição "The Solitude of a Machine", oito fotografias de longo formato do suíço Marc Ninghetto. As Máquinas inspiradoras da exposição são os robots personagens da manga japonesa Grendizer e Astroboy.

Desde há muito tempo que o genebrino Ninghetto tinha a ideia de criar uma série de fotografias surreais baseadas nestes dois heróis da sua infância, mas a actividade normal de fotografar Alta relojoaria e Arte não lhe tinham dado, até agora, a plataforma ideal para corporizar a sua ideia.

Mas a MB&F M.A.D. Gallery deu-lhe essa oportunidade. Ele e Max Büsser conheceram-se há cinco anos e este último propôs-lhe uma exposição naquele espaço. Foi aí que surgiu a ideia de divergir do estilo habitual e avançar com os super-heróis nipónicos.

"The Solitude of a Machine" estreia hoje na M.A.D. Gallery. Consiste em oito fotos, cada uma com uma edição limitada a 25 exemplares, numa impressão de luxo. Disponíveis em três tamanhos: 100cm x 70cm (1.500 francos suíços cada); 120cm x 80 cm (1.800 fs); ou 150cm x 214 cm photos (5.900 fs).

Biografia de Marc Ninghetto

Marc Ninghetto was born in Geneva in 1972. After graduating from the Vevey School of Photography in 1995, he left for Paris to become first assistant to Dominique Issermann after the acclaimed French photographer had shown interest in Ninghetto’s work. During his year in the French capital, Ninghetto flourished under Issermann’s tutelage and gained the skill and confidence to develop his own style and technique and set up as an independent. When Ninghetto returned to Geneva in 1999, his reputation as a photographer, both in the world of fashion and the watch industry, grew thanks to his work for the likes of Studio Currat and in 2006 Ninghetto set up his own photography and graphic design agency, La Fabrique. Parallel to his work in the high-end fashion and jewellery industry, Ninghetto has also channelled his talent into personal artwork that has seen him put on over 15 exhibitions in as many years. He has increasingly devoted his energies into these personal creations that focus on human subjects, invariably females. Thanks to the dreamlike veil that envelops this work, his sensitive eye for detail and his original style and technique christened ‘digital sampling’, Ninghetto has become one of the biggest names in Swiss art photography.
