Do comunicado:
Yosi Kuzi, CEO of EGL Asia, who is also a co-owner of Diamonds Services Ltd., reported that the device had since been delivered and tested by a number of gemmologists. "There is across-the-board consensus that the DiamaPen is indeed a reliable tool for a first-round of identifying, detecting and separating synthetic diamonds, both HPHT and CVD grown diamonds, from their natural counterparts" he said. "However, at the same time, we do recommend that those diamonds that are screened out by the DiamaPen are consequently referred to a qualified gem lab for a final diagnosis."
Kuzi said that further research of the DiamaPen's abilities had shown that the device was also very helpful in screening out diamond simulants. "It readily screens out (synthetic) Moissanite, cubic zirconia, and other simulants. Test results for natural, fracture-filled diamonds as well as lab-grown HPHT diamonds that were consequently irradiated to change or improve their color also proved conclusive. These findings only strengthen our contention that the DiamaPen is and will be an important, practical tool for those working in the diamond industry and trade," Kuzi stated.
Further testing of the DiamaPen's application to other, colorless gemstones - natural, synthetic and simulants - is ongoing. The DiamaPen will be available for purchase at the upcoming Hong Kong Gems & Jewellery Fair at the Asia World-Expo, Hall 6, Booth 6NOO.
