O comunicado:

The 2013 Presidents' Meeting of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) will take place in Toronto, Canada, May 12-15. The announcement was made by IDMA President Moti Ganz, who said that the choice of Canada as IDMA's venue for its biennial Presidents' Meeting underscored the association's endeavor to meet in diamond producing countries.

IDMA's 2011 Presidents' Meeting took place in Botswana. "By meeting in diamond producing countries, our members are offered a unique opportunity to gain a better understanding of the production and sales processes that come with diamond mining," Ganz noted. "Canada is currently the world's third largest producer of gem quality diamonds. Therefore, Canada was an obvious choice. The country has the potential to sustain its position as long time diamond producer because of its geology. Currently, there are a number of commercially viable new, gem quality producing diamond mines under development.

"Our previous IDMA Presidents' Meeting in Botswana, which featured the Diamond Pitso and a visit to the Jwaneng mine was a fantastic event," IDMA Secretary General Ronnie VanderLinden recalled. "Meetings of this stature present great opportunities for networking and the establishment of new contacts. In Toronto, our members will have the opportunity to visit the Diamond Bourse of Canada (DBC) which was opened in 2010.

The meeting will also coincide with the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) 2013 Conference which will be held in Toronto May 15th to 19th 2013 providing an interesting opportunity for synergy between our two industries," VanderLinden stated. IDMA President Moti Ganz thanked Bhushan Vora, President of the Diamond Manufacturers Association of Canada (DMAC) for his generous offer to hosting the 2013 IDMA Presidents' Meeting in Toronto.
