Faleceu Manuel da Silva Matos, o relojoeiro português que, durante 17 anos, foi o Diretor Criativo e de R&D do Grupo Frederique Cosntant. Convivemos com ele nas mais diversas situações, sobretudo quando ainda existia a Baselworld. Ou quando visitávamos a manufatura, em Plan-les-Ouates, em Genebra. Um homem de grande saber - esteve no desenvolvimento do primeiro calendário perpétuo da marca. E de grande afabilidade. Ficará na nossa memória.

A triste notícia acaba de nos ser dada por Yasmina Pedrini, outra amiga que temos no Grupo Frederique Constant, responsável pela relação com a Imprensa.

A manufatura emitiu o seguinte comunicado:

IN MEMORY OF MANUEL DA SILVA MATOS

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Manuel Da Silva Matos, Creative & R&D Director at Frederique Constant Group, after a courageous battle with illness.

For more than 17 years, Manuel played a pivotal role in shaping the creative identity of Frederique Constant, Alpina Watches, and Ateliers deMonaco.

His artistic vision, technical mastery, and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on all three brands.

Through his expertise in horological conception and construction, Manuel also contributed greatly to the development of our Manufacture and complication collections, strengthening the horological know-how and creative excellence of the Group.

His recent creations, including the Classics Manchette, Classics Moneta, and Alpiner Extreme, perfectly illustrate his legacy of innovation, elegance, and craftsmanship, and will remain key references in our product history.

Manuel will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences go to his family.
