Federation Horlogère cria "isco" contra falsificações

Você é dos que anda sempre à procura de relógios falsos à venda na Internet? Então experimente ir a www.replicaswisswatch.com.

To combat the online sale of replica watches, some months ago the FH Internet Unit launched a new kind of website.

In recent years counterfeiting, particularly the sale of fake watches, has acquired such a level of visibility that the means employed to curb its growth have had difficulty keeping pace. As a result, the market for counterfeit goods has become virtually uncontrollable. International legislation in this area struggles to present a united front, policies lack cohesion, measures put in place are insufficient, and some perfectly legitimate companies acting as intermediaries have even closed their eyes to a market which generates billions of francs in revenues and which, according to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), accounts for between 5 and 7% of world trade.

While the great majority of the population is familiar with the diversity and extent of this clandestine market, particularly as a result of tourism, only a minority is aware of its truly disastrous consequences. It must be remembered that counterfeiting can endanger the health through the use of toxic products, can give rise to falling sales and job losses, as well as inferior quality products, and often exploits child labour.

Most methods currently used to curb online sales of counterfeit products involve placing barriers in the distribution chain between the supplier and the end consumer. One can cite for example the closure of sales websites and the withdrawal of online payment systems. The strategy envisaged by the FH Internet Unit differs by the fact that it seeks also to raise awareness directly among consumers to the problem of counterfeiting through the use of a decoy site. The aim eventually is to help reduce demand, which would inevitably bring about a reduction in supply.

The FH decoy site employs two successive phases: the first takes the form of an “ordinary” website offering counterfeit watches for sale. Interested web surfers can browse at leisure among the different pages that make up the site, but only for a limited period of 30 seconds. In a second phase, they are redirected automatically to a brightly coloured prevention page which contains information and an awareness-raising message intended to inform consumers and place them on their guard as to the consequences of buying a counterfeit product.

The effectiveness of the decoy site depends of course on the number of people who visit it, hence the importance of widespread dissemination of its address (www.replicaswisswatch.com) and as much communication as possible about its presence and its objectives. Readers who have an opportunity to pass on this address are strongly encouraged to do so.
