Violinista arménio ganha Prix Montblanc 2011




O Prix Montblan c 2011 contempla desta vez o violinista arménio Sergey Khachatryan, de 26 anos. O galardão foi recentemente entregue na presença de Lutz Bethge, CEO da Montblanc International e do júri, composto pelos Professores Justus Frantz, Li Biao e Jürgen Christ, no Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt, em Berlim. O evento incluiu um concerto de gala com a Philharmonia of the Nation, sob direcção de Justus Frantz.


O Prix Montblanc é constituído por 10 mil euros e pela Montblanc Donation Pen Arturo Toscanini, uma caneta de tinta permanente que homenageia personalidades que se destaquem no mundo da música clássica e, ao mesmo tempo, incentiva novos projectos artísticos e culturais.

This years PRIX Montblanc winner Sergey Khachatryan was born in Yerevan, Armenia and has already won First Prize in the VIII International Jean Sibelius competition in Helsinki in 2000, becoming the youngest winner ever in the history of the competition. In 2005 he claimed the First Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels.

Sergey Khachatryan has performed with orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre de Paris, London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, NHK Symphony in Tokyo, Munich Philharmonic and the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich.

Since December 2002 Sergey Khachatryan has performed regularly with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, including a Proms debut in 2005 conducted by Vassily Sinaisky and concerts with Gianandrea Noseda.
Sergey Khachatryan works regularly with Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra in St Petersburg and at the Mikkeli Festival in Finland. His 2010-2011 season included debut performances with the Dresden Staatskapelle, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra Washington, Rotterdam Philharmonic as well as the Melbourne and Sydney Symphony Orchestras. Other highlights included the Munich Philharmonic with Thomas Hengelbrock, Orchestre National de Belgique with James Gaffigan, Swedish Radio Symphony with Susanna Mälkki, and the Berg concerto with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra with Kirill Karabits. At the gala concert with the Philharmonia of the Nations on October 25th, Sergey Khachatryan will be performing solo sonatas for violin from Johann Sebastian Bach as well as a solo sonata from Eugène Ysaye.
