Meditações - time spontaneously emerging...

Lido aqui:

For our entire lives, we experience time as a steady, unbreakable river flowing continuously from the past into the future. Advanced physics, however, has long suspected that time might not be a fundamental property of the universe at all. A fascinating new experiment by physicists has taken this mind-bending theory out of the realm of pure mathematics and into the laboratory. By building a miniature, self-contained universe, scientists are uncovering evidence that time is simply an emergent property of quantum physics.

To test the true nature of time, researchers isolated a cloud of rubidium atoms inside a highly specialized glass vacuum chamber. By cooling these atoms to just a fraction of a degree above absolute zero, the team effectively created a tiny, completely isolated quantum universe. They removed all external influences and stopped using laboratory clocks to track the experiment. The scientists simply observed how these ultracold particles interacted and shifted within their closed environment.

The results of this groundbreaking experiment are completely changing how we understand the fabric of reality. The researchers discovered that as the atoms moved and the overall disorder of the system fluctuated, a measurable sequence of events naturally unfolded. Time essentially created itself from the shifting chaos and entropy of the particles. This incredible breakthrough proves that time is not a universal metronome dictating the cosmos, but rather a beautiful byproduct of matter constantly rearranging itself.
