have achieved an incredible breakthrough by measuring the shortest time ever
recorded — just 247 zeptoseconds. This is the time it takes for a particle of
light, known as a photon, to travel across a hydrogen molecule. To understand
how small that is, a zeptosecond compares to one second the same way one second
compares to 31.7 billion years — an almost unimaginable scale.
This
discovery allows researchers to study how light interacts with electrons inside
atoms, opening new doors in quantum physics and advanced technologies. By
observing events at such tiny time scales, scientists can better understand the
fundamental processes that shape our universe.
