Uma expedição a um pico virgem dos Himalaias, patrocinada pela Jaeger-LeClultre, terminou agora com êxito - e o pico, como já aqui tivemos ocasião de anunciar passou a chamar-se Antoine LeCoultre.
O comunicado oficial, hoje divulgado:
Under the patronage of the Grande Maison in the Vallée de Joux, the team of three mountaineers – Swiss guide Stéphane Schaffter, renowned Apa Sherpa and Little Karim Balti – have successfully scaled a Nepalese virgin summit, christened Antoine LeCoultre Peak.
Three exceptional Jaeger-LeCoultre timepieces were part of the adventure: the famous 1958 Geophysic Chronometer; the Master Compressor Extreme LAB; along with a third creation to be unveiled in January 2010.
Creation and exploration come together in the discovery of a totally wild region that has revealed itself to be of extreme interest for the future of hiking and mountaineering tourism in Neal. The essential human aspect of this ambitious adventure was evident in the expedition party, as human relations are always the key to such an undertaking’s success.
