La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland (12th January, 2012) – Girard-Perregaux, iconic luxury Swiss watch brand, is proud to announce the addition of legendary watchmaker, Dominique Loiseau, to its manufacturing team.
Dominique Loiseau has worked at the summit of complex horology for more than 30 years and is the creator of remarkable timepieces such as the six Montres de Sables, the Rose des Temps clock, the Renaissance or Capriccio pocket watches and the famed Blancpain 1735 wristwatch. His latest timepiece, the Loiseau 1f4, is the most complicated automatic watch in the industry with eight patents in its movement. A restorer of collectors’ timepieces, artisan and teacher at the International Museum of Watchmaking in La Chaux-de-Fonds, where the Girard-Perregaux manufacture is located, Loiseau is no stranger to the brand’s historical heritage and innovations.
“Girard-Perregaux is a unique brand in that it is a true manufacture founded in very rich history and heritage”, says Dominique Loiseau. “I am very excited to have become a part of this amazing team and look forward to a successful partnership”.
Loiseau was brought in by the Sowind Group (Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard) during the last quarter of 2011 in order to strengthen the brand’s “think tank”. He will not only bring a fresh perspective to the brand but has also taken on the project of developing new complications and movements.

THE MANUFACTURE LOISEAU SIGNS A COLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH GIRARD-PERREGAUX
Without any doubt this alliance will reinforce the notoriety of the Manufacture Loiseau which, under the lead of its founder Dominique Loiseau, the watchmaker of genius, creates outstanding high-end calibers and watches, using home made craftsmanship’s of traditional watchmaking art.
Considered as one of the most brilliant creator of contemporary watchmaking Dominique Loiseau took advantage of Baselworld 2011 to unveil the 1f4, a complex and truly exceptional Grande Complication timepiece, stamped with his own name for the first time. This Haute Horlogerie masterpiece, which production is limited to 2 pieces yearly, marks the beginning of a new area for the Manufacture Loiseau.
Next to its 1f4 manufacturing program Dominique Loiseau and his team presently work on “MNS”, the 2nd brand entirely developed and created entirely by the Manufacture. It is about a concept of sports watches with complications inspired by the yachting world and imagined by Daniel M.Montandon, Dominique Loiseau’ s partner. The brand and first models will be unveiled later this year. Other models with name Loiseau, destined to complete the brand, are also under current development.
This is the true context in which the collaboration with Girard-Perregaux and the Sowind Group was just given a start. It will be the only third party brand which will benefit from the technological contribution of the Manufacture Loiseau and the advices of Dominique Loiseau.
Baselworld 2012 will be an important milestone for us. Indeed, part of the machinery and hand tools we use daily in our Manufacture will be installed in our booth. So the public will be able to discover certain of the home made techniques we are nowadays the only one to apply to our entire production.
