Manuel Cargaleiro (1927 - 2024) e o relógio que criou para a Jaeger-LeCoultre
Estação Cronográfica com Manuel Cargaleiro. A foto refere uma visita à Jaeger-LeCoultre, numa viagem organizada pela Torres Distribuição, em 2001. Ao centro, o fundador da empresa, Pedro Torres (falecido em 2008) e Manuel Cargaleiro. O artista tinha acabado de fazer a decoração de um relógio modelo Reverso.
O Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso criado por Manuel Cargaleiro (2001). Este modelo de série limitada inseriu-se na colecção Jaeger-LeCoultre Arte Portuguesa, iniciada em 2000 com a apresentação de um Reverso personalizado por Júlio Pomar. Este projeto foi crescendo ao longo dos anos, com o lançamento de edições limitadas personalizadas por mais artistas portugueses: Paula Rego (2002), José de Guimarães (2003) e Julião Sarmento (2011).

Meditações - Across the reflections of time
Across Time
Across the reflections of time, I see you.
I bite my lip, murmur your name, and remember.
The memories come back so rapidly,
but I do not call your name, no.
Instead, I brush the hair from my eyes,
and in solitude, I turn away.
Even so, I will remember the memories
and I will cry for the lack of time;
for I know life as it is.
So again, I give one last look in your direction,
I drop my eyes, touch my lips, and cry.
For I know that this chance meeting
as fateful as it seems,
will never happen again…

Cyrille Vigneron, Presidente e CEO da Cartier, novo Chairman da Fundação Watches and Wonders
Chanel, Hermès e o grupo LVMH juntam-se ao Board da Fundação Watches and Wonders Geneva. Cyrille Vigneron, Presidente e CEO da Cartier, substitui a partir de 1 de Julho Jean-Frédéric Dufour, CEO da Rolex, como Chairman da fundação. A próxima edição do salão de alta relojoaria Watches and Wonders Geneva decorre de 1 a 7 de Abril de 2025.

Foundation’s desire to support the watchmaking industry as a whole, with all
the stakeholders.
Founded in September 2022, on the initiative of Rolex, Richemont and Patek Philippe, the Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation is pleased to announce the arrival of three new key members, Chanel, Hermès and LVMH, which are joining the founding members on the WWGF Board.
After two years as Chairman, Jean-Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Rolex, will pass the torch on 1 July 2024 to his successor, Cyrille Vigneron, President and CEO of Cartier, for two years, and will become the Treasurer of WWGF.
Under the stewardship of Cyrille Vigneron as Chairman and Claude Peny as Vice-Chairman, WWGF's Board will focus on defining the strategic and development axes of Watches and Wonders Geneva, a major event which currently brings together the biggest players in the global watchmaking industry. With 54 exhibiting brands and 49,000 visitors at its last edition in April 2024, Watches and Wonders Geneva posted a record result.
The Exhibiting Committee, composed of representatives of the exhibiting brands, will continue to ensure the success of the event.
The integration of these new members will undoubtedly allow WWGF to make watchmaking shine even more intensely around the world through its flagship event, Watches and Wonders Geneva.
The next edition of Watches and Wonders Geneva will be held from 1 to 7 April 2025. Stay tuned for more information.
