Two key chapters – precision time and precision timekeeping – tell an exciting story via a broad selection of exhibits. The first theme comprises dedicated content showcasing the numerous awards presented to Tissot for the accuracy of its movements. These document performance excellence dating back as far as 1884. A series of beautiful certificates, complete with authoritative stamps and signatures, traces a proud history of early milestones reached by the Swiss company founded in Le Locle in 1853.
Sports timekeeping is also part of the Tissot DNA and the perfect complementary focus for an exhibition where precision really counts. Three disciplines from the brand’s large portfolio are showcased – cycling, MotoGP™ and basketball. Each one offers a unique storyline bringing together history, innovation and inspiration. You’ll be able to see highly sophisticated equipment that guarantees some of the world’s top competitions a degree of precision that’s well beyond the ability of the human eye. Missing the sound of the applause from fans and the odd adrenalin rush? No problem! Film footage brings the action directly to you. Tissot has continually been inspired by its strong relationship with the sports it’s connected with. This has flowed into many watch designs and these collections are on show to bring to life the scope of the sporting collaboration and its intrinsic inclusivity.
Tissot has been named Official Timekeeper and Partner of many disciplines, including basketball with the NBA, FIBA and CBA; cycling with the Tour de France and the UCI World Cycling Championships; motorsports with MotoGP™ and the FIM World Superbike Championship and rugby with the RBS 6 Nations Championship, TOP14, the European Rugby Champions and Challenge Cups. It is also the Official Timekeeper of the World Championships of fencing and ice hockey and of the AFL.
On your marks, get set, go ! This exhibition promises to be a summertime winner.
